Hey look: another meme! This one I got from Rob's blog (Rob is a former college a cappella colleague). It's kind of another version of the "my life as a movie" meme I did last Friday.
Musical 8-Ball:
Open your music library and put it on random. Ask the question, press next, and see if the music answers your question - don't take answers that don't make sense. Here we go...
1. What is missing from my life?
"A Holly Jolly Christmas" - Burl Ives [It's true - the holiday season ends much too early for my tastes. I miss happy, fun, depression-free family holidays. Maybe by December I'll be better...]
2. Will I find love?
"Only Hope" - Mandy Moore [Only hope? No love? That's sad. I mean, hope is nice and all, but it'd be great to have them both. How about faith? Do I get that one?]
3. Will I become rich?
"One of These Days" - Tim McGraw [Are you just saying that to give me hope?]
4. Does someone have a crush on me?
"Yes I Do" - Rascal Flatts [Oh, 8-Ball, you big flirt. I did notice you giving me looks earlier.]
5. What should I do with my life?
"Stand Back Up" - Sugarland [Hmmm. I think this is actually quite a good idea. Thank you.]
6. Am I good looking?
"Nothing Compares 2 U" - Sinead O'Connor [Aww, shucks. You're such a sweet-talker!]
7. When am I most happy?
"Coming Home from the Sea" - from A Perfect Storm [That's right. And do you know why? Because I HATE the sea. So anything that involves moving away from it and back towards land makes me happy.]
8. What is my biggest regret?
"Going Under" - Evanescence [Um, going under what? Under cover? Under the knife? Under pressure? Under the bridge? 8-Ball says: "The Hand of Fate" from Signs. I don't recall going under the hand of Fate, but whatever.]
9. How does the world see me?
"High Flying, Adored" - from Evita [Ah yes. I worked hard to maintain that image of perfection. Then I crashed and burned. And decided to admit it. I imagine no one sees me as either "high flying" or "adored" at this point.]
10. What do my friends really think of me?
"Words I Couldn't Say" - Rascal Flatts [I appreciate your restraint, 8-Ball.]
11. Will I have a happy life?
"Pathetic" - Blink 182 [Soooo.... that's a 'no,' then?]
12. How can I make myself happy?
"Live Out Loud" - Steven Curtis Chapman [Hmmm... I'll try it and let you know how it works out.]
13. How will I die?
"That's the Way" - JoDee Messina [What's the way? This is too vague - let's ask again. 8-Ball says: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Bing Crosby. Yikes - did he run me over? That's uncool, Rudolph. No wonder all of the other reindeer never let you join in all their reindeer games.]
14. Do I act my age?
"Always" - Bon Jovi [Sure, always. That's why I laugh at things like, "I don't think I'm going down right," and "friends farting sleepover." Totally age-appropriate.]
15. What type of tattoo should I get?
"Something I Can Never Have" - Nine Inch Nails [Well you have to admit that it'd be awfully hard to get a tattoo on your plastic shell, 8-Ball.]
16. What is my spirit animal?
"Songbird" - Eva Cassidy [Appropriate spirit animal, if I do say so myself.]
17. Do I like pain?
"God Only Knows" - The Beach Boys [That's not true. I know, and I bet many of my friends know too. The answer is a big fat NO.]
18. Is there anyone else like me out there?
"Everywhere" - Michelle Branch [Wow, I feel so... replaceable.]
20. Where should I move to?
"Life in a Northern Town" - Dream Academy [Can we be a little more specific? There are an awful lot of towns north of here. We're not talking all the way to Canadia, are we? Although Sunshine Scribe is there, as is Her Bad Mother and Mary P. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad...]
22. Will I ever be president?
"Chances Are" - Bob Seger [Chances are that I will or I won't?]
23. What is fun for me?
"Boys" - from Dance Dance Revolution [Well, it depends on which boys we're talking about, but on the whole I'd say you're right.]
24. Will I ever learn to fly?
"Maybe" - from Annie [Thanks. Very helpful.]
25. What is my super power?
"A Heart Full of Love" - from Les Miserables [I'm not sure how super a power that is. Thus far in life I feel like it's only gotten me in trouble.]
26. What is some good advice for me?
[My first answer was "He Ain't the Leavin' Kind" by Rascal Flatts, which is good if I want to go serious, since the "He" referred to is God, and a reminder that God doesn't leave us probably is good advice for me. I decided to see what would come up next, though - just in case - and I got a funnier one to share with you all.]
"Stay Awake" - from Mary Poppins [Yep, crucial advice for any teacher-in-training.]
Well, those are my answers from the Musical 8-Ball. If you find this stuff fun, consider yourself tagged.
Just make sure to leave a comment letting me know you're doing it, so I can make sure to come check it out. :)
Happy Monday!

I'm totally doing it. :)
On second thought...I'm not. Because my music library really sucks and it's not working at all, at least not in comparision to *your* library's answers. :)
I'll do this one! :) Probably tomorrow! xo
Do you know Melissa Golman (well, now it's Applebaum)???!!!
I'm going to do this one...as soon as I find the time!
I'm so confused. How could you hate the sea? What's to hate? It smells good, sounds good, feels good, and attracts swimwear. And you can wear flip flops. And surf. I dont get it...
I'm so doing it.
I did it, but I have no blog on which to post my results! Still, I was laughing hard and couldn't believe how well some of the songs matched the questions.
And, of course, your commentary on your songs was fabulously funny.
I am SO doing this one!
Can't believe you had an Evita song too!
I'm not doing it (no surprise to you). #9...you are soooo wrong. You are considered both high flying and adored. I laughed. This was good. Help seeser get a blog site.
jen - oh, SAD. i was excited to read your answers. keep trying!
aly, dee, teacher anonymous, and lala - yay for more memes! (and yay for evita!)
nicole p. - YES! well, okay, not really. my ex-fiance was good friends with both melissa and todd, and i was at the wedding with him. that was actually my first time meeting them, but i met them once again later, when melissa was pregnant. it's such a small world!
bones - hate it because of a bad experience. plus: salt, sand, and seawood. what's to like?
seeser - some of yours were indeed pretty good. especially your advice: "take it to the limit." awesome. :)
mom - yes, i know you won't be doing it, but that's okay. glad you got a good laugh out of it. oh, and i'm working on seeser. :-P
