Self-Congratulations

Today is the day we’ve all been anxiously anticipating. Okay, maybe we haven’t all been anxiously anticipating, but I sure have. Today, the last of the Do-Due-Done is Done.

I am done.

DONE.

DONE!

While I wasn’t thrilled with my final project, I was okay with it enough to say “the hell with it” and turn it in. I thought the content was good, I just wasn’t very happy with the presentation. But really, of the two, the former matters significantly more.

But seriously, I am done. And despite the lingering feelings of failure, I am freaking excited. And just a tad bit smug. To have gotten here, to the point that I have no outstanding work to finish over break, and no reason to believe my grades will even be suffering for my missed time, is amazing. Especially given that about a month ago I wasn’t sure I would even be staying in this program, let alone finishing the quarter on time with everyone else.

What’s that? Is that applause I hear? No, please, you shouldn’t… Okay, well, yeah, you should. I am momentarily feeling pretty darn good. Go me. :)

Her Bad Auction is now open for bidding! Please, PLEASE go check it out and do what you can to help. It’s a great cause, for a great lady and her great family. ‘Tis the season, after all… :)

Day 13 of LaBloShoeMo: The Mary Janes

These shoes remind me of Alice’s shoes from Alice in Wonderland (this one, not this one). They’re actually not as comfortable as they look, because the leather is not so flexible. I don’t wear them very often, for just that reason, but they’re cute every time I do. They look particularly good with my green linen capris, which I haven’t been wearing much lately due to the cold weather. And yes, I’m pasty pale. So sue me.

Yay! I'd give you a round of applause, but I managed to get superglue all over my hands and am vaguely afraid that they'd stick together.

Congratulations. You've achieved quite a commendable accomplishment. Celebrate your triumphs :).

Congrats! That is one of the best feelings there is--the end of semester-phew I am done feeling. And you deserve an even bigger one as you actually got it all done basically on time! Way to go! Thanks for your fabulous blog, I LOVE reading it!

mortimer - okay, i have to admit, you've got me dying of curiosity. who the heck are you? i have some guesses, but i'm not positive about any of them. your animal morphing is amusing, though.

graham - thanks! :)

aly - you're so right. i'll get right on that email, i promise. and my paleness is totally down with making other pale friends.

teacher anonymous - good call on not applauding. i thank you for the intention, though, and hope you successfully de-superglued your hands.

TB - i did celebrate: i went out and bought four new pairs of shoes. pictures will be coming soon! one pair in particular you ought to find very interesting... ;)

ffbgirl - yes, it is totally the best feeling. and yes, made even better for the fact that pretty much no one (myself included) expected me to be able to do it on time. i'm glad you enjoy my blog - i love writing it, and i love having such cool readers! :)

her bad mother - thanks for the pat! (and you are of course so welcome for the plug.)

dee - thanks much! :)

borat - um... why are you visiting my site? i haven't even seen your movie. but thanks for the high five all the same.

Something there is that doesn’t love a wall.

Lara said...

robert/a - that wants it down?

"before i built a wall, i'd ask to know what i was walling in or walling out, and to whom i was like to give offense."

of course, once i asked, i'd weigh the answers very carefully, and if i decided it was best, i'd probably still build the wall.

also, i have no idea what a grouper is.

A grouper is a type of fish that can transform from male to female as it matures.

Of course I am loving many things about your blog as I read it, but these shoes...leave me SPEECHLESS.
