She said it with so much disgust. I was a little shocked. I asked her what's so wrong with Socal ppl. I didn't get too much of an answer. All I got was that Socals are bad drivers. I think that is just Los Angeles. The thing that bothered me was she spoke with so much hatred towards Socal Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079493.post-26474257798427079862006-12-20T07:13:00.000-08:002006-12-20T07:13:00.000-08:00It's true! But we usually do it by quoting arcane Dostoyevsky quotes during lulls in conversation at brunch, as opposed to using E-cup sized silicon bags.

Sorry Socal girl.

(and good luck with that commute.)Mom101https://www.blogger.com/profile/15468524489744839899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079493.post-1157352315522593172006-09-03T23:45:00.000-07:002006-09-03T23:45:00.000-07:00lady m - thanks! yeah, there are definitely occas...lady m - thanks! yeah, there are definitely occasional jaded faces, but the majority of my fellow passengers happen to be of the chatty variety. :-P

tali - giants suck. i don't think i could have handled having to be on a train full of people stupid enough to support the giants. they're almost as bad as yankee fans...

anon - i think the saturday midnight ride would be too Larahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04389047861929002263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079493.post-1157145882628316712006-09-01T14:24:00.000-07:002006-09-01T14:24:00.000-07:00Hilarous post. Once I observed two fellows trade a bottle of rum for a bottle of water. The guy getting the water downed the bottle in one sustained convulsion of his throat. Apparently he had a mighty thirst.

To be fair to the Caltrain sign, one can be cited for walking on the tracks even when Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079493.post-1157129717908523742006-09-01T09:55:00.000-07:002006-09-01T09:55:00.000-07:00Funny that you've picked up the Caltrain commute j...Funny that you've picked up the Caltrain commute just as K and I have left it. The best was going home to the city when there's a Giants game. The car is packed but it's half jaded commuters trying to get home (as Lady M mentioned) and half enthusiastic and partially-drunk-already Giants fans.

And ouch! 7:45!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079493.post-1157092280965134962006-08-31T23:31:00.000-07:002006-08-31T23:31:00.000-07:00Funny post!I used to take Caltrain up to the city ...Funny post!

I used to take Caltrain up to the city daily for work and was introduced to the jaded/disconnected "commute" face from the financial district city folk. It was very amusing - barely a raised eyebrow and nod for acknowledgement, no conversation. Further south, there was more talking.Lady Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13360693450146358247noreply@blogger.com
