I'm Too Old for This Crap

This is what I did over the weekend, while my students watched in awe, amazement, and amusement...

I jumped off of this thing:

Onto this thing:

Clambered over it:

Set myself up on the edge:

And waited to be launched:

And then I started to think:

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all:

And then I think I died right here:

But fortunately came back to life:

And was even happy about it:

"I did it - are you happy now?"

And then I walked away victorious, never to repeat that again:

I think I earned the eternal and undying respect of my students for having done that while they all watched and laughed at me. It was pretty awesome.

So, uh, how was your weekend?

Okay, those pictures turned out way better than I had thought. I swear they looked extremely blurry through the viewfinder. It'd be funny if it was just a smudge on my glasses... (But I checked for that too!)

Anyway, you TOTALLY ROCK! Even after three times at that retreat I have never dared to do the Blob.

I'm so excited to be able to share these experiences with you now!!! :)

You win. No bouncy blue and yellow things for me. So does one person landing on it launch the previous person off it or something? Is that what's going on? Looks like fun.

yep, exactly, the next person jumps and pushes the air forward to launch the person off the end. it's really fun, though i might recommend trying to launch forward instead of backward, like i did. :-P

what kind of school are you teaching at that you get to do that?! (And yes, awesomeness.)

I always see people doing that in movies and on TV and think, "what's the big deal?" But an overwhelming majority of... everybody has me believing it must be a challenge.

That's how I felt about the high ropes course until I was up there, too.

We went to the LA County Fair, but nobody got hurled thru the air. That is as hilarious as it is awesome.
