Just in Case I'm More of an Enigma Than I Think...

So here's the thing: Blogstipation (a complete mental blockage preventing one from composing - or even ideating! - any remotely interesting blog posts) is inevitable for bloggers. Eventually, we all get there - we catch a cold that drags us down, we have one too many sleepless nights, or we fall prey to the mind-numbing insanity that really only comes from singing "Baby Beluga" eighteen times in a row. Really, we all get there.

I've been pretty lucky, though, in that I can come up with a post that I think is interesting (and really, that's what matters most since this is a personal blog) the vast majority of the time. It seems like there's always an idea or two (or twelve) floating around in my mind, so pulling one out and putting it into publishable words isn't generally too hard. As of this moment, I've probably got about three concrete ideas and another five-ish half-formed thoughts just waiting to become posts on one of my sites. Which really just begs the question: Why the hell am I talking about blogstipation if I don't have it?

A few other folks I know around the blogosphere have remedied blogstipation episodes with a clever pass-the-buck strategy: They asked their readers to submit questions, to then be answered in a future post (or posts). I think it took Ali four or five posts to answer all her questions, and Mrs. Chicky's barely begun her answering. The questions have ranged anywhere from "What's your favorite book?" to "What fictional characters would you most like to meet?" to "Can I have your love child?" (Okay, so that last one might have just been asked by me to Ali. She has agreed.) The answers have been amusing, interesting, and enlightening. All in all, everyone wins: Blogstipation is cured with fascinating, reader-driven content.

So I thought that maybe you all might have some questions for me. Even if I'm not hard-pressed for things to write, I really want to know what you want to know. Dig deep! Probe! (Hahahaha - probe. I'm so immature.) No question is too personal - you know me, I'll talk about anything. Even my close friends who are reading: What would you like to see me write about? What have you always wondered about me, but been afraid to ask?

Let it out, folks. I'm ready and waiting.

"No self is of itself alone. It has a long chain of intellectual ancestors. The 'I' is chained to ancestry by many factors [...] This is not mere allegory, but an eternal memory."

-Erwin Schrödinger

We are all the end products of an unbroken chain of ancestors reaching back to the moment the first life form was able to reproduce itself. We inherit many things from them, but we cannot be reduced to them.

What hidden influences, if any, do you feel from your ancestors, be it intellectual or genetic?

What are your eternal memories?

How are you able to take such perfect self portraits? Is there some kind of trick or equipment I don't know about?

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?

If you could have been told one thing that you weren't told when you were a teenager, what would you like to have heard?

From your experiences caring for kids, do you think boys and girls are truly different little creatures? How/why?

If there WAS a pre-printed application for being "Boy Z" as you indicated in the last comments section, what questions would appear on it?

What qualifications are you looking for?

Are there any specific deal-breakers to look out for?

Is the application process the typical "application, screening interview, panel interview?" Or is there something more diabolical set up?
