oh poetry!

i am NOT a poet and i DO know it. ;)

lovely T13, my dear! very artistic, you are, what with the dancing and the poetry and the shoes.

You are very talented. Three and Twelve were beautiful. I liked three the best. Where you came from. Thank you for sharing.

I would love to read more of your poems. Although I'm decidedly not a poet, I did the Where I'm From exercise a couple of years back. It was a lot of fun and now I use it for my "about" page.

I'm making the TT rounds on Friday; this was a good list.

Yes! Those lines are compelling enough to make me want to read a few of those poems. I have not heard of this poet. Thank you for sharing.

Good TT!

What a fun idea for a Thursday Thirteen. I'm horrible at poetry, but enjoy reading. So that's a good thing. :)

sassy - i'm not sure shoe shopping is necessarily an artistic talent, but okay. :-P

raggedy - thanks very much for the compliments. :)

terrilynn - the "where i'm from" exercise is a great way to get some poetic verse out without too much pressure or stress. we did it with our students in class over the summer. they were all surprised at how easy writing a poem was when they had a helpful start like that.

kathy - you haven't heard of the poet because i'm the poet, and i am (sadly) unpublished. ah well, maybe someday.

amy - thanks, dear. glad to see you back again. :)

gatekeeper - boy was i tempted to write, "i am the keymaster" when i saw your comment. but i held myself back somehow. thank you for your comments.

aimee - well that's good, because i'd like to have an audience, but not if every member of my audience is also my competition. ;)

ali - really? nice. you should write a post about it. giggity giggity! ;)

jill b - you're welcome! thanks for reading!

california teacher guy - hmmm... poem number two is not a favorite, but i might be willing to post that one someday. i'll think about it. :)
